At the heart of our Sumgayit site sits an automatic bulk bunker built to move one product fast and consistently: carbamide from our partner's plant. With a loading capacity of up to 3,500 tons, the bunker is the link between the factory's production line and the wagons that carry it onward over our 7,592 meters of railroad to the Haji Zeynalabdin station on the Azerbaijan Railways network.
Since 2024, all cargo handled at the site has moved through this automatic bunker. Previously, part of our volumes were also handled manually using big bags, a slower method that came with its own handling costs. Switching fully to automatic loading has shortened wagon turnaround time and made dispatch far more predictable for both partners our operations serve.

The bunker doesn't work alone. It sits within a wider chain of infrastructure that includes a warehouse, a water reservoir, a scale for weighing loaded wagons, and the loading platform itself. Each piece plays a role in keeping cargo moving from the plant gate to the rail line without bottlenecks, which is exactly what our long-term lease agreement with our partner and its guaranteed minimum annual off-take depends on.
Why capacity matters
A 3,500-ton bunker capacity gives us the buffer to keep loading even when factory output and wagon availability don't line up perfectly. That buffer is what lets us absorb short-term swings in production without slowing down dispatch, keeping both our railroad lease and cargo forwarding services running on the schedule our partners expect.
